Yes, correct.  GFE, per US Govt contracts manuals (FARR, etc.) state that
GFE is an accounting term meaning Government Furnished Equipment.  This is
gov't furnished equipment to any gov't sponsored contract.  Could be lab
equipment, sample units (from another vendor, perhaps) or subassys used in a
finished item.  The 5 digit number after GFE undoubtedly refers to the
mfgr's cage code (vendor number).  In my line of work (aerospace) we use
lots of GFE, VFE (vendor furnished equipment), etc. of all types.  We
frequently use bits & pieces from the govt for development & for the
finished product.  There are some bits & pieces that are supplied ONLY by
the govt., for example.
