Glenn,
ACL is Astro Communications Labs, which later became reincarnated as Norlin.
I have several of their surveillance receivers including the SR-212 which
has built-in multiple Inductatuners and the SR-209 that uses plug-ins. I
have a single bay chassis that is labelled "GLR-9(V)" that uses the same
type of plug-in tuners but while the SR-212 tuners physically fit, not all
of them work in this chassis. I don't know whether this is a different
pin-out, or as one person speculated, something other than the standard 21.4
mhz IF.
Toronto Surplus is the only source I've seen for any of this gear and docs
seem to be unobtainable. But if you figure out the power connections it
shouldn't be too hard to find the IF and hear some signals - the range of
the GLR-9 went from 20 Mhz to 12 Ghz if you can find the tuners!
73, Bob W9RAN
