Hi all
First a question.
How long did the SCR-269 ADF set stay in service after WWII?
This leads to the next point I want to make....
I read in more than one place about how the crew of the C-47 that flew to the LBG
site took one of the radios from the B-24 to replace a non-functional unit in the C-47,
and something sticks in my head that it was the range receiver.
Which means it was probably a BC-453. This was the approximate 1960 time frame and
it is likely the C-47 still had one in its racks.
But could it have been the BC-433, would they still have been in service in 1960?
Now, in the urban legend category........
I also read that a number of non-radio items wound up being scavenged from the LBG
and all the aircraft that had LBG items in them wound up crashed, missing etc. True???????
