Norm,

This is the filter box installed on my PE-162-B. The 162 is a compact,
lightweight portable MG set consisting of gasoline engine GE-12-D (two
cycle) and generator GN-50-A. Delivers 6.2 and 500 vdc at 150 watts. In
addition to the GRC-9, my manual (TM 11-971, July 45) lists the SCR-284-A,
SCR-694-C, AN/TRC-2 and AN/TRC-2-A for use with this MG set.

My manual actually lists filter box FL-43A for use with this MG set and that
box included a connector for use with the SCR-284. However, my set has the
F-147U box installed which does not have this connector. I have a
refurbished unit and replacement of the original filter box may have been
done as part of this process.

I can provide you with a schematic of the FL-43A which appears to be the same
as the 147U box except for the SCR-284 connector. However, I operate my
GRC-9s extensively with the dynamotor and AC supplies and have never
experienced a hash or other noise problem with these supplies. You really
shouldn't need the147U or 43A boxes unless you are running the MG set.
