Gentlemen,

I've noticed that our ground troops all (or at least
most of them) have a type of headset with microphone
under their kevlar helmets. Is this a new type of
squad radio similar to the old helmet radio
sets?(PRT-4 transmitter and PRR-9 receiver) I also
noticed a photo of one of our soldiers (the one with
him sniffing the perfume in a letter from his wife)
had a handi talkie strapped to his pack shoulder
strap. The radio sure looked like a Motorola Family
radio Service type. Has the military gone to using
this type? Just curious.
