The term Walkie-Talkie (Army spelling) is most commonly asociated with the
SCR-300 equipmemt. However, the name originated in the late 1930s with the
SCR-194 and 195, and seems to have dropped out of common use by the time
the PRC-8, 9 and 10 series of back-pack sets came on the scene.

The term Handie-Talkie applied to the BC-611. I have also seen the name
used in referring to the later PRC-6 but the term also seems to have gone out
of common use about the same time.
