In WW2, Walkie-Talkie strictly referred to the BC-1000 as it was the first
field radio which didn't require setting up on the ground/vehicle. The
BC-1000 can be used while moving on foot, as it is strapped on the soldier's
back and is self-contained with the battery pack.
Hand-held radios such as the BC-611 and later PRC-6 were not referred to as
Walkie-Talkies in WW2.
The term Handie-Talkie is a later terminology.
