[Milsurplus] throat mike technique

I've never tried the throat mike, but a mention of technique makes me
wonder: my experience with carbon mikes indicates that enunciating clearly
(using "pear-shaped tones"), along with shouting (almost a contradiction)
helps intelligibility. Is it possible, given the noisy environment that
throat mikes were intended for, that alarming the neighbors and scaring the
cat are requisites?	e
