I have 5 or 6 element antenna that I need to identify. This appears to be a
satellite antenna. Probably 225-400 MHz FLEETSATCOM. The antenna appears to
be for portable operation as the elements fold down next to the boom for
storage. It consists of 5 sets of round (rod) elements at 90 degrees to
give a circular radiation pattern. There is another set of elements at the
end of the array. The last set of elements are flat and very close to the
last set of round elements. These are slightly rotated out of the plane of
the round elements. The array appears as sort of a log periodic based on
the length differences in the element sets. The antenna appears to have a
mount for it (I do not have this piece). The antenna mount piece is marked
0 - 90 degrees a has teeth in the side as if to lock into the base part of
the mount. The markings indicate elevation. The antenna is fed with a
single type N fitting that goes into a "matching" box. Out of this box
comes two feedlines to probably give the antenna a circular pattern. The
markings on the antenna are CONTR. DAAB07-91-C-D040. DSGN ACT 85226. P/N
C121-2 And NSN 5895-01-128-6419.
Does anyone have any info on this antenna to indicate frequency range and
intended use? Possibly a base for the antenna.? Pictures available on request.
