Hue and The Group,
I've encountered some military B batteries that were made up
of fairly common alkaline cells, e.g. AA, plus foam blocks
to make up the extra space taken by the larger carbon-zinc
cells used in the original version of the battery. You can
feel this construction through the cardboard, The alkalines
have fairly substantial shelf life, so you might want tho
give them a shot if the price is right.
