Hi Lloyd:
You are probably not going to find a power cord set already made up for
these. Originally, with many receivers of this category, only the special
plug was provided and it was up to the installer to wire it. When the
equipment was pulled, more often than not, the cabling remained behind,
still fastened with ties to the racking. Same thing is true of vehicular
and airborne equipment -- the power cord and other special cabling, stayed
behind.
So, what you need to do is buy a couple of connectors and some generic
3-wire cordsets. You can cannibalize a standard equipment cord or pick up a
"laundry drop cord" from an electrical supply store. (These are nice, heavy
duty cords with molded 3-pin plugs meant for hooking up washing machines.)
You can also pick up 3-conductor power cable from Home Depot and a 3-prong
plug of your choosing.
The power connector for the RF-550 is the MS3106-F-14S-2S.
A -- hot
B -- chassis ground
C -- neutral.
D -- no connection
It is available from:
http://www.atlantictechdesignservices.com/
About $15 per complete connector, (a pretty good price) which includes the
insert, pins, body and a "shell" which is used for the screw-down strain
relief. Their minimum order is $50, but you need 2 so just need to come up
with another $20 worth.
Another name often mentioned is William Perry, who should have the same
item. Not sure if there's a minimum with him. Sorry, don't have an email
address handy.
Barry
