'604 used 54x multiplication and DID exploit that 9th harmonic on
the osc.-rect. pair in the transmitter's 1st stage.
Case of writing w/o RTFM.
Now the tale (fable) of Link getting 1940 Armstrong-licensed SCR-293/4
(BC-499/500) contract while Galvin fumbled with it's idea is another SWAG.
Came from an opinion in a Radio Club of America Armstrong conference
proceeding in '94.
Pix fm North Africa show Link FM cop sets. I wonder if BC-499s, etc. saw
service.
P. Salati @ Fair sed he got lots of beat '499s indicating they were.
Gotta wonder.
Any help or insight appreciated
Tnx,
Marty
