In cleaning the shed, I rediscovered a module that I bought at a hamfest.
Hopefully someone will recognize it.

The markings say "CMC 455-161 FREQUENCY MULTIPLIER 8A2 SER.NO. 162"
In relief in the casting is "CMC407-069"
On top of the module are two attenuators one marked "CMC333-438/1
ATTENUATOR 1.75 db 8A2 AT1" The other has the same markings but is AT2 and /2.

The multiplier is in a casting with a divider in it. On each side of the
divider are four plunger/piston glass capacitors, four coils on plastic
forms, two air wound coils, two fixed glass capacitors, two (what appear to
be varactor) diodes stud mounted, marked MA4060C and two resistors. The
capacitor tuning slugs are all connected to a tuning rack that goes through
a worm gear to a flex shaft. Each slug can be fine tuned and fixed within
the rack with a set screw. There is no bias applied to the varactors. There
is no DC blocking within the module. DC could be passed through the tuning
chain, except that on end of each tuning chain has a small air wound
inductor to ground. One attenuator is in line with each tuning section. The
coax in and out of the assembly (four pieces) are small TFE insulated and
have push on RF fittings about the size of SMC. The module mounts with
three captive screws from small flanges on the base. These flanges are
painted red. The piston capacitors are made by Roanwell and are marked
MG111xx where xx is a number in the range of 56 - 60.

Any ideas as to parent equipment and application?

Thanks
