Yes, seems odd, especially the idea of using the BC-375. But i
wasn't buying surplus in 1960, and back then that gear surely
didn't seem so strange.
I had a MN set that was used by a classical music station in
Eugene, OR, for remote broadcasts. It had been crystalled up for 26 MHz if i recall correctly,
requiring no modifications. Something
like "spears into plowshares" ?
