I have an unpopular theory on these things

The build-contract was a political favor pay-back to Emerson, later GTE, in 
MA!

The huge quantity in surplus, many of which from Army Mars, supports 
the theory.  They weren't just for the SAC's B45s, 47s, & 52s.*

A soon-retiring CIA tech-source bid dug up nothing in his inside file
search.

However the MOTO fact's entirely new to me.  Hue how'd u get the
"R. W. Koch unpublished art'l comment about 'their RS-6'"
And did your memory yet produce the issue # for the published
"Air Classics '83" art'l?

*I've got a set that was given to SAC's former PR chief in 1963.  AF Mars
 in Colo Springs was just told to "raid a B47 parts closet" back then.
