Maybe it was to kill the rumor (which I believe) that there is not much
evidence that the AN/ARC-5 (as opposed to SCR-274-N or A.R.C. type 12 sets)
was ever used by any service but the USN.  But...maybe that was an SCR-274-N
set in the picture and not an AN/ARC-5.  I can't see if there's a key on top
of the transmitter control box.  :-)
