            Hello PK232'ers:

Since I am the one who asked the question on the Digital Modes
reflector that resulted in this reflector being started, I will
try to
            get things going.

            I bought a used PK232MBX (v. 7.1) with a good set of
documentation and
cables. I set the PK232 up for the loopback test as described
in the
manual. I am using HyperTerminal for the communications
program. I
am set up at 1200 7-E-1 as shown in the manual, and I have good
communications between the computer and the terminal.

When I power up the PK232 I get the greeting message screen:
Copyright, Release, Version, etc, and cmd: So far so good.

Now I am supposed to type in a series of commands to perform the
loop
back test. The first one is: MY AAA <enter>

When I type MY AAA <enter> there is no response. If, however, I
type
<CONTROL-C> I then get the correct response. The same is true
for all
the other tests. They operate correctly, but I only get a
response
            after sending <CONTROL-C>.

My intuition tells me that this has to do with the way
HyperTerminal
is set up. I have tried configuring the Com port with software,
hardware, and "none" for flow control. There aren't a lot of
other
            options I can think of.
