All I can submit is that 6-pin spare socket is for the magic eye,
perhaps a 6E5.

I've a good method of hunting for a civvy Belmont equivalent if the manual 
hunt fizzles.  Hey Belmont was a big deal contractor!  Besides BC-348s,
they made a slew of those chrome push button (ring a bell?) BC-603 tank 
FM rx-s.

W/o any doc, I'd just try pull all tubes save 5Y3 & series, say, 20k WW 
with B+ & let her rip w. 110v light bub seriesed w. line cord.  That in 
case xfrmr shorts.*  You might re-form electrolytics & can certainly 
spot bad B+ bypasses & the audio coupler.  Bet if so treated, there's a 
50-50 it works w/o ree-ree & re-cap dithering.

Maybe you'll hear Phillip Morris' Johnny at once.
