yesterday i picked up the following original document:
"Models RAB and RAB-1 Receivers: Instructions for replacing Type 38064
Tubes w/ Type 38056 Tubes As Oscillators", from the Radio Laboratory,
Navy Yard, Washington, D.C.; dated 1 November 1936. 
24 page doc describing step-by-step modifications to permit the use of
the 38056 (which apparently was to replace the 38064 in newly manufact-
ured units) in older models.
