It was an adaptation of the B24.  So too was the C87 & a re-styled Navy
job the PB4Y.

Cdr Richard Black still kicking in these parts.  He piloted a Coronado
to the Missouri for the signing.  MacArthur's Coranado.  Cudn't let
Spruance show him up by having a 4-motor seaplane.  What an ego.

Back to Black.  He was instructing in Martin or Sikorski open-cockpit
seaplanes in Pensacola when the war started.  In early '42 he transferred
to Hawaii & seved out the war ferrying VIPs from Honmolulu to LA.
Aside from a few PAA-run Boeing "world clippers," the Coronado was
only acft that cud make the non-stop trip

Now on 3 RDFs.  Might do OK, gess all 3 BC433 rxs in the '269s cud share
a single wire sense antenna.  FB the one-shot triangulation 'jfors.'

BC-433 some upgrade of god knows what - like the primitive no-sense
set on the "Lady be Good" liberator.  '433 was some earlier doo-dad
with sense input added & 2050 thyratrons to auto-pos'n loop in those 'bomb
housings.'  '433 survived into 90s as p/o ARN-7* as many here know.

And once again to all, the Navy/Radiomarine DZ2 d-f set with 'unidirectional
ability.'   Was it ever used???  Did this ingenious '269 pre-empt it 
before same DZ-2 cud leave the gate?  Possible USN humble pie since
SCR269 ur foto was not just army, but army as hell.

 boundless determination... to get rich by cornering the rdf market.
