It's an SSR-5 receiver (part of the SSTR-5 set). See my web site, and =
also Keith Melton's "OSS Special Weapons" book, if you have it.
On the picture you posted, you can almost read the "SSR-5" on the ID =
tag.

Never heard of one but there in a 6-47 Radio & TV News was a kit selling
on the site of what became the WTC.

Figure it was a "kit" since dealer bought some unbuilt surplus.
