The dimensions don't match but your recollection of external coax may.  The 
ASB (or more specifically the ASB-5) transmitter is 18W x 8D x 10H (not 
including shock mounts, knobs, etc.).  Uses two 15E and one 15R HV rectifier.  On the 
front is an adjustable length coaxial line section ending on the right in a 
connector for a flexible line to the antenna selector unit.  Below this is a 
similar pipe section blanked off on the right end.  Inside the case are two 800 
CPS transformers, the three tubes and sockets, a few resistors, one relay and 
some RF piping.  Probably pretty empty.  No photos in the operator's manual.  
Only line drawings.
