Did you ever find any info on the CV-2651? I believe that Fair Radio
has manual copies for the GRR-18 components, and the GRR-18 receiver
shelf (rackmount) is for sale on their website.

The GRR-18 is an HF receiver, and your CV-2651 is the GRR-18's RF
section & preselector. The CV-2651 covers from 2 to 30 MHz, works with
external 250 KHz IF strips, and has a unique servo-driven
'self-resonating' preselector.

The GRR-18 has no local controls - all control is done via serial
bitstream which is decoded by the GRR-18's synthesizer. A minimal
receiver will contain a mounting shelf, your RF section, a synthesizer,
and an IF/audio section, plus a remote control unit. Options include an
RF section without the preselector, a selftest unit, and an IF/audio
section which decodes the A2 & B2 sidebands for diplex (four sideband)
operation.

The GRR-18 was used in early TSC-60 variants and is part of Collins
"URG-2" family of equipment. The TSC-60(V)2 carried two GRR-18s, two
GRT-17s (companion HF exciter), two 208U-3A 3KW power amplifiers, and a
pair of OK-145 control heads, all housed in a 12 foot long transportable
shelter.

(URG stands for Universal Radio Group. The URG-1 family includes the
651F-1, the 51S-1, and the 618T. The 671U-4, the 651S-1, the 718U
radios, and the PRC-515 all fall in the URG-2 family. Rockwell/Collins
currently advertises the URG-3 family of gear - many of the radios live
inside a PC, all PAs are solid-state.)
(I'll add that there also seems to be a URG-0 family, though Collins
never advertised it as such. The URG-0 family includes the KWT-6 &
URC-32 fixed radios, the ARC-58 airborne radio, the Jeep-mounted TRC-75,
and the TSC-15 "Communications Central" radio shelter.)

Brad, good luck with the GRR-18 beast - let us know what progress you
make.
