[Milsurplus] New Groups: What a "Grate" Idea

I think i can guess the lure of creating a new group:
"Hey, let's start OUR OWN club". Maybe that's a
holdover from the paper-publishing era, when you
could take pride in publishing something, creating
a new product. Something like this happened to SWL
clubs, in the 1960s and 1970s, that i'm aware of:
squables and such led to splinter groups and new
smaller clubs. Now, they're all withering on the vine.

In sum, as far as new subgroups, i just don't see the
clear advantage. I mean, how many posts daily do
milsurplus, 19-set list, and spy radio list generate?
It sure isn't that many. If someone feels that the
number of posts TOGETHER from all these lists is
prohibitive, or overloads their computer or mind, i
feel sorry for them, but they're better off with a rotary
dial phone than a computer.
As for website storage of articles and photos, that
may be a different issue. That is clearly desirable.
