Tom Jr. was

Ship, etc

yes , no sort of....but here it is....

from the flying lab I quote

" Mr. Swift took great delight in the fact that tom from earliest childhood
had shown all his fathers flair for invention. As soon as the boy was old
enough to study science, his father had been his teacher."

in both Tom Swift Sr. and Tom Swift Jr. there was always a father that was a
mentor, a teacher, and someone to be ultimately reckoned with! Rick
Brant's father same...
The fathers company was Swift Construction company which is referenced on
page3 of Tom Swift and his jetmarine, which was formed to market Tom Swift
Sr's many inventions, the Ned that is mentioned as Uncle Ned in the Jr
Series is also the Ned that was the side kick in the orig Tom Swift Sr.
series.

another interesting toy is the miniaturized 20 meter transmitter built into
a pencil mentioned on page 5.

all great old fiction indeed. read most of the tom swift in 4th grade,
friend had a set that was a present from his father...I could borrow those
and take them home but the father had a set of the TS sr's , to read those
I had to go to his house as he was not allowed to lend them out!

Did Tom Swift impact my life? Indeed, for I would not be where I am today
without him!
