Better rethink the last sentence, Wally.
It's the same receiver, except for the nameplate, knobs,
and sometimes the logging chart.

I have thought that the selectivity might actually be improved
if the extra link coil was disconnected entirely and the IFs
retuned without  them. Or, change the dimmer pot to control a
Q Multiplier. I found that as is, i could not comfortably listen
in the crowded  6 MHz broadcast band. The wide selectivity
would fit with the "alert broadcast" receiver role.
