Navy broadcast( RATT) but the RBS would drift all  over during rough weather, big thumps from waves.

No doubt direct result of #1 high tuning rate ( gearing ) and
#2 lack of weight in gear train ( mechanical intertia ). I don't
think this receiver, unfortunately, would do well for either CW
or TTY under such conditions.  I  recall now,  with a a smile, R E
Goodheart ads from 1960s that called it "Navy's Pride" receiver.
(But the same as touted the ARR-7 as qualified for ssb reception,
too.)
