FWIW, in about 1960 I found an RBS in the salvage
yard at the Naval Station in San Juan PR. Slipped
a 12 dyna into the PS case in the trunk and
mounted the RBS on the hump under the dash in my
'54 Lincoln. An AS 96" whip took care of the
signal sucking. Worked good with minimal 
ignition interference. Later used the RBS in a
fixed station with a clone of the URA-8A RTTY
audio converter I built, feeding a model 15
printer. Would copy 60 WPM press all day long. Ah
yes, those were the days.
