[Milsurplus] Tinker's Lament: Parts Ain't Parts No More

At a flea market on Sunday, I picked up a little (1.5" long) radio controlled
car. It has a complete R/C receiver with steering (left-center-right) and
motion (forward-stop-reverse). The transmitter is 49 MHz and includes a charger
for the NiCd in the car. It has a darling little DC motor about 1/4" in diameter
and 1/2" long.

It cost $10 NIB !!

How can anyone match something like that?
