Dave, et al,
As the ARA nameplates are riveted to the receiver top covers, perhaps someone
doing restorations may have removed them in order to refinish the covers. Or
has a cover or covers that they plan to refinish when they get a round tuit.
Also, there are probably a few top covers around that are badly mangled and
not reasonably restorable but with nameplates that it wouldn't hurt anything
to remove and inspect. I'm pretty sure that I've sold or swapped some likely
candidates in the last five years or so.
