MRCG - EIGHTH ANNUAL MEET
The eighth annual meeting of the Military Radio Collectors Group (MRCG) wil=
l=20
be hosted by the Fort MacArthur Military Museum, San Pedro, CA, on Friday,=20
Saturday and Sunday, May 2, 3 and 4, 2003. =A0=A0 San Pedro is located on th=
e=20
south side of Los Angeles adjacent to the Harbor. The Museum will be=20
monitoring 51.0 MHz and 146.52 MHz (call W7QHO/6) to assist arriving=20
participants. =A0 This year's event will formally begin at 0800 Friday morni=
ng=20
when the gates to the park open, and early arrivals are welcome Thursday=20
afternoon as in previous years.
Friday and Saturday will be devoted to equipment setup and display,=A0operat=
ing=20
events, and informal get-togethers on the Museum grounds. Secured areas fo=
r=20
equipment operation and display will be available within the Fort's complex=20
of bunkers and underground corridors and there is ample room on the museum=20
grounds to accommodate out of doors activities. =A0 Participants are encoura=
ged=20
to bring equipment and set up working displays and demonstrations. Special=
=20
activities will include heliograph and signal light demonstrations and six=20
meter fox hunts.=A0 Several technical sessions and lectures will also be=20
scheduled over this period including presentations on Soviet and British=20
radio equipment and our own ART-13 among other topics.=20
The equipment judging program introduced in previous years will l be managed=
=20
by Rian Robison, W6SVU (562-421-7213).=20
Equipment and parts swapping activities are encouraged throughout the meet=20
and, in addition, Sunday morning 0600 - 1000 has been cleared specifically=20
for this purpose.=A0 The meet will officially end at the conclusion of thi=
s=20
activity.

There are no admission charges for this event, but a "fair share" c
ontribution of $5.00 is requested from each participant. =A0 Funds remaining=
=20
after all expenses are met will be donated to the Fort MacArthur Museum=20
Association.
