Of course, to be really accurate, for the words "did they use",  you would
probably
have to rule out the TBX-8, and demonstrate only the earlier versions. From
the
photos i have seen, and the real life examples, it appears to me only the
"early version"
was actually fielded, and that while the -8 was produced during WW2, it sat
in its
shipping chest until surplussed.
