Might be as simple as a PLL FM demodulator, 1-chip, with a couple outboard
components, on a
small piece of perboard, built onto a 7-pin tube base plug, and substituted
for the set's normal
duodiode tube.
( Occurred to me during a Scrounge Trek episode.)
