Teletype folks -
Here's a reminder about "clatternet", the ongoing military teletype
net on the 30 meter Amateur band. For about a year and a half, several
of us have been running our military teleprinters on 10137 USB in an
informal weekly roundtable.
clatternet is always 850 shift on standard military "MARK LOW" tones,
and always runs at 60 WPM. We all use military radios & modems/TUs &
mechanical teleprinters, but anyone having an interest in military gear
is welcome to join in.
(If you use a software TU, _please_ set "DEEDLE OFF"...).
Tuning in to clatternet, you'll hear a variety of military gear on the
air, including GRC-106 & MD-522 setups, PRC-47 & CV-2455 combos, Sunairs
& Dovetrons, Harris URC-94s, you name it - at times you'll even hear a
GRC-46 drift by... Kleinschmidt & Teletype teleprinters abound, but
you'll hear the occasional MITE.
clatternet is on the air every Saturday morning at 0930 Pacific time
on 10137 KCs USB. We use standard "MARK LOW" military tones, with MARK
= 1575 CPS & SPACE = 2425 CPS
Join us if you can.
