More on the subject:The AN/MRC-107 and AN/MRC-108 were designed for
Forward Air Controller use. The 107 used the GRC-106 for 400 watts on HF,
ARC-51 for UHF, Wilcox 807 on VHF and also PRC-25, PRC-41 and PRC-47.
The 108 used the Collins modified 618T (MRC-95) for 400 Watts HF, ARC-51
on UHF, Collins 618M on VHF plus the PRC-25, PRC-47, PRC-41.
In both cases the PRC-25 had an external amplifier for high power.
In this case the units were mounted in a Jeep with Trailer. The same
setup was mounted in an International Crew Cab truck (Can not remember
the MRC number)

The difference between the V and M is as follows:

V, like VRC-19 is a radio that is used for communications from the
vehicle.
M, like MRC-109, etc is assigned where the vehicle is included as part
of the package. There were several MRC's, such as the old crew cab
international which had an operating position in the rear seat with
equipment out thru the rear in a shelter. In this case the equipment
included an ARC-58, an FM transceiver for comm to FAC's and Army ground
units and in some installations an extra HF receiver. I used such a
unit while on a NATO exercise in Denmark and use to stick it on 20 meters
using my F7CP callsign (not quite legal) but sure worked well.
