Wurzburgs were exceptionally fine radars for their day. They were simple,
reliable, and had an excellent antenna (some were shipped to the US after
the war, just for the dishes. Wish I knew where they went).
I think the Wurzburg used a push-pull triode pair in the final - weird
GEMA tubes, I think. Not much magic there. Probably not much different
from the USN model SA.
"Window" (chaff) did a pretty good job of poking their eyes out, however,
and by the later half of the war Wurzburgs were fairly useless.
Also...
In a fit of unreason, I purchased a dynomotor for an FuG 10 aircraft
radio. Looks like a very fine quality piece of gear, and I would like to
lube and spin it up. Does anyone have the pinout to the big "connector"
on the back? Lots of contacts, and tracing wires in that cramped chassis
is difficult.
