I was gonna plead foot in mouth disease - but not now.

Op'n Green Beach on Dieppe is only book I'd read that had a Wurzburg*
that now, on reflection, think was disabled & only part-removed b4
brits retreated on plan.

Hadn't heard of Bruneval 'til now.

So I went to the web.

Green Beach was Canadian seacoast landfall @ Pourville nr Dieppe in 8/42.
First task was take out battery @ Breneval (think Bruneval)!!
Success.

Book tells of dismantling & snitching parts from radar near
Green Beach & think it must be same site hit in "Operation Biting"
in 2/42.

Dieppe raid & Wurzburg looting also mentioned in book "Winning the
Radar War"

I think, John, we're both right... tho possibility there was
2 Wurzburgs in this pocket which is little more than a set of
suburbs just north or LeHavre a little below the Belgium border.

Pal gave me "Battle of WiTs" which is parody on British use of WT for
CW / wireless telegraphy - BTW, any comments on that John - anyone?

*600 mcs VT oscillator w. huge parabola. Used for vectoring night
 fighters & made 100kw pulses.

I think our top tube "radar like thing" was APX-6 w. lighthouse
 tubes @ 1200mcs. Lo pwr. ASB had 15Es & cud get 20kw @ 500mcs.
Wonder how FuG got their sig & pwr? Web no help tho does point out
a Wurzbuerg parabola still used for ionospheric sounding in a
