[Milsurplus] ID'ing late model unit

anyone help ID'ing this late model item? probably some part of a posi-
tioning system? manufactured by Trimble Navigation, looks like it's
out of an armored vehicle perhaps?
the face (readout side) measures about 2" x 6�"; body measures about
6�" x 7�"; three connectors on the side, two 6 pin (gold pins) w/ one
small antenna connector. 3 switches on front panel: large one (FIX,
POS, R+A, NAV, WPT, OPS, STS), two small toggle-type switches (INC: L, R
& DEC); lanyard loops w/ cloth line, very liteweight (3 lbs?).
