Was reading the thread about rebuilding the BB series batteries,
A WORD OF EXPERIENCE!!!
I got the idea to cut one of the lithium units open and replace them with
nicads and it worked great!! BUT... when I was cutting it open with the band
saw I nicked one of the pressurized battery cells. JUST ONE HALFWAY GOOD
WHIFF OF THE GAS WILL LEAVE YOU SEEING STARS!!!! just like a good 2X4 up
side the head...
the plastic cases are real thin in some spots and the cans are just inside
waiting!!
I also opened up one of the BB-490s and if you gut the lead acids and chop a
little of the inside plastic two of the real common Yeasu or the like lead
acid cells fit it perfectly and you have enough room to glue the case shut
again.
