The coil is on five pin tube base, and stands about three inches tall. The
body is black plastic, with a few windings of green wire. the top is
nickle plated brass, with a hex head tuning slug and a knurled locknut.
The top is engraved 145J-7 3.20-3.75 MC. it has a Navy stamp.

I've been to bsmt twice now. First time I brought back what turns out
to be an exciter assy, Collins 7000C-5. Square can on 7-pin base, ~4" high,
2 "APC" trimmer cap adj.s on top. HAS Navy anchor stamp, NOT S-C.*

So what matches ur thing I asked. Went to book & a shorter 5-pin box
was shown as a MO-tank - no Collins SN. Has permeability tuned coil
& some caps. Bet that's ur 145J-7. It was used to sub as a xtal and
my rig's lost these.

My book is for 32RA model 8 sn 880. Stamped:

    Radio Stations AA3WAZ, K3WAZ, WUB4
 U. S. Army Engineer District, Baltimore
        P O Box 1715
    Baltimore 3, Maryland (not MD)

A MARS baby. A last name "Stillwater" penciled on front.

My rig is 32RA-7, sn 15381.

There was no shortage of 32RAs!!

Mine's badly ham-hogged in places, but front near-OK. Has 1939 pi-net
outputs awreddy!

*what're Army rigs doing going down a Navy inspection line I ask.
