> Anyone ever see either SCR?

Yes. Although not as whole sets (I have many accessories to find - see
below).

Very similar sets, the BC-176, -176-A, and -227. The -176 was for vehicle
use, and the -227 for horse use. The SCR-209 is actally a makeshift set,
using a BC-312 and a BC-176-A. The original BC-176 was used in the early
tank sets called SCR-189 and -190, made by Westinghouse back in 1932.

So far, these transmitters seem to be the one and only use for VT-50
triodes.

I know there are a few BC-235 control boxes kicking around out there, as
I remember seeing them at the ARCI radio show about ten years ago (too
foolish to grab them!). This is the loooooong control box that sat
between the BC-227 and BC-228. If anyone has seen these boxes, please let
me know! These, and the BC-177 variant for the BC-175 and BC-176...
