No- that "similar" business is totally erroneous. Not at all similar, except
that the Navy
owned both of 'em and they were big.

I have the manual, i think, but it's in storage in another state. If i
recall right, the manual
talks about the receiver being primarily for broadcast reception, and
secondarily as a
fill-in communication receiver.
