parting out a BC-312-N i recently picked up: pix @
http://home.att.net/~btuttleman2/312-5.jpg
it is a Farnsworth manufactured unit; on the same page you'll see a BC-
312-M also; unlike the ID tag on the -N which has Farnsworth right on
the plate, the -M ID plate is quite different, leaving off any mfg. i.d.
it merely has "15903 CRV 16906-PHILA-1944" was this typical? the
RA-20 AC power supply on the -M has Farnsworth right on the ID plate,
but i am having no luck finding any info anywhere else on the -M. (i
haven't decided what to do w/ the -M, it has had the front panel
altered, but looks fairly complete - it might be a parts unit also).
also, what was the quality of the solder joints on equipment of this
era? from the ones visible on these two units, its awful "ugly"! was
this typical, or has someone been into these units?
tnx to everyone who has responded to my earlier inquiries; i sometimes
can't thank everyone individually, so here's a full-coverage "thank you"
!!
