In 1966 upon retirement from USAF I worked shortly for an outfit in Oklahoma City
that procured surplus aircraft ramp power equipment, then overhauled it for sale
in third-world countries.  I rebuilt the carbon pile regulators.  New discs, or
biscuits, were available.  Also, my experience in USAF indicates that these type
mechanical regulators of all sizes were very common.    73  Clete
