Bob,
The PU-116/U and PU-116A/U are rated at 4KVA @ 115VAC/60Hz.
The PU-181/PGC-1, which was formerly called the PE-214, sounds =
more like what you may have had, although I wouldn't describe it as =
something that you could hold in one hand. It is rated at 300VA @ =
115/230VAC/60Hz. The outlets are mounted right in the end of the =
generator, not in a separate box.
Also, WRT a couple of other replies, the 5KVA (early models) and =
10KVA (later models) with the flat-head 4-cylinder engine that was =
used with the SCR-299/399/499, AN/MRC-1,2 and some other sets =
was the PE-95-(*). The engine is basically the same as used in the =
Willis MB/GPW, although it was de-rated, the manifolds are different, =
etc. The PE-97-(*) is the vibrator power supply for the SCR-510 =
(BC-620).

>Many years ago (like 50 or so) I had the use of a very small =
gasoline generator which had a 110VAC output with about enough =
power to light a couple of 100 watts bulbs. This unit was about =
4.5-5 inches square and incased in a tubular metal frame. Had =
about a half pint fuel tank. I used it when stationed in =
Syracuse NY at the old NYANG base at Mattydale. I remember that =
the unit was called something like a PU-116 or close to that number...
Anyone have a clue what it was?
