John forgot to mention one thing (well, actually two). Unless the bearin=
gs
are installed on the armature in such a manner that you can remove them
without using a puller (on small machines like you have, they are usually=
a
press fit) under no circumstances do you want to attempt to remove them
from the armature unless the armature has puller grooves (and you have a
small enough puller) to pull them by pulling ONLY on the inner races. If=
you do, you will most likely destroy the bearings (the damage is called
brinelling, if I got the spelling right). However, as John indicated, od=
ds
are actually quite good that you can buy new ones today. =
And the second thing that John forgot to mention is that if the motor end=
runs on DC and the generator end produces AC, it ain't a dynamotor, it's =
an
inverter. :-)
