I have thought about this for some years but due to increasing
other demands, it seems i am going to have to slip out of this
project. It would, i think, require contacting, working with, and
maybe visiting maybe 8 big collectors in the USA.
I like the old Editors & Engineers "Surplus" book, the blue cover
one with the B&W photo and schematic. I don't like a whole
lot of usage photos, one or 2 per set is plenty, and i would not
want to post the manufacturing history of every nut and bolt to
the set. This would, in my mind, be almost like an ONI or JAN
publication, Manual, from the era. In fact i would use an old
character font also. If you try to show too much, it's like
cataloging the grains of sand on the beach. You have to know
where to delimit. Also i think you need to have a SIG-5 Catalog
to refer to, for the tabulation of bags, cables, cords, legs, etc.
etc. Whew! I feel relieved, having abandoned this project.
