Thanks to all for useful information and the warning about the frequency.
I guess first thing to do is to remove the crystal!
I was inclined to restore it with tubes ( subminiature pencil 6050) if I
can find some. I guess you all be seeing adds for them in few month to come.
Sorry.
My box is green, army. The picture I got from some web site shoved an
instruction "sticker" on the side of the speaker / microphone. Mine does
not have that.
It looks like these transcievers were popular / plentiful and I wonder if
there are some avaiable today - it would be nice to have a pair.
Still need some wisdom on the battery case - I think I can dispose of the
innards properly - but I am afraid it will disintegrate from the rust
outside and inside.
I was thinking dipping it in some rust removal fluid and than put some of
the tools rubber coding on it to hold it together.
Any other idea?
As far as running it from tne battery pack - I rather not. I think I will
use the pack just for show and run it from an external power supply.

PS. I will check this myself, but I think using superregenerative receivers
is verboten on some ham frequencies. I may be wrong.
