A case in point...The BC-639/BC-640 which were designed in the US and
proposed to the Army who did not want to change from their HF equipment.
Thus the VHF gear designs were sold to the Brits who could see that VHF
was the way to go for aircraft radio. That is the reason that all BC-640's
have a royal seal on the front of the cabinet. All of the BC-639/BC-640
radios built in the US were built under license from a British company when
the US finally decided to go to VHF.
