All,
I find very hard to believe that the US Air Force would put an ART-13 on a
supersonic bomber that was supposed to replace the B-52. Early B-52s had
the ARC-65. This was a pressurazed synthesized SSB radio designed and
manufactured by RCA.
Regarding the ARC-105, this was first installed in RF-4Cc and lated
retrofitted on some RF-101s. This radio was not available until the mid
60s.
In the B-58, there is a pressurized electronic bay between the Pilot and the
Navigator. This is fairly small and the fligth manual indicates that the UHF
radios were installed in this areas (ARC-34 and ARC-57). It look lile the
HF radio was installed in the umpressurized tail.
It is important to realize that 618T-x AND 618-s (ARC-38) are not
pressurized and would not survive/operate and high altitudes. Therefore,
these radios would be installed on aircraft with pressurized electronic
compartiments such as KC-135s etc.

This may have been covered elsewhere, but I seem to recall reading that the
B-58 used the crystal controled ART-13B and autotune ARR-15 receiver at one
point. If so it probably was not called the ARC-8.
